WHITE. Silvia De Bastiani: the lyrical voice of the Alpine watercolor

At 2,173 meters, in the spectacular spaces of the Pavillon intermediate station of the Skyway Monte Bianco in Courmayeur, the exhibition by artist Silvia De Bastiani, "White, the lyrical voice of Alpine watercolor," is open until September 30, 2026.

With WHITE, Silvia takes on a new and intense challenge: a pictorial cycle entirely dedicated to the Mont Blanc massif, created exclusively for Skyway Monte Bianco.

A breathtaking exhibition in homage to one of the most impressive mountain ranges in the Italian Alps.

Twenty paintings, including a spectacular, uninterrupted watercolor nearly three meters high.

"The artist has interpreted the theme of the mountain and its elements with a sensitivity nourished by study, direct experience, and a personal pictorial language that is now fully recognizable.
Silvia has chosen watercolor as her sole means of expression, clearly demonstrating how this technique perfectly matches her understanding of painting from life. Watercolor is, by its very nature, an intimate, immediate medium, deeply connected to the elements.
With expert technique and profound sensitivity, her watercolors narrate the mountain not only in form, but in its soul: light, silence, breath.
A unique project: a dialogue between vision and vertigo, between effort and gratitude. In her watercolors, one senses the ascent, the silence, the light, the fragile power of the mountain.
Each work is the fruit of a direct relationship with the Alpine environment, of solitary days spent en plein air, of contemplation and wonder.
Snow, rock, wind: everything becomes poetic vibration."
