Us at Cortona On The Move 2026: frames and technical solutions for the festival

We are technical partners for the new edition of Cortona On The Move 2026 (July 16 - November 1). The festival, directed by Renata Ferri, is titled "Beautiful Country" and is a great photographic journey through today's Italy.

Our job was to give these images a physical form. We produced the wooden frames and designed the technical solutions following Renata Ferri's guidelines and the specific needs of the photographers, particularly for the Peninsula exhibition. Here are the details of our production:

The woods: Linden and White Maple
To meet the artistic direction's guidelines and blend with each photographer's style, we focused on two main materials:

  • Linden (natural or colored): Clean, minimal, and lightweight. It is perfect for contemporary photography because it enhances the shot without distracting the viewer.
  • White Maple: A noble and precious wood, compact and particularly hard. It represents the ideal choice to preserve the absolute fidelity of the print colors, integrating into the exhibition space without ever overpowering the artwork.

70% museum glass for the "Peninsula" exhibition
The Peninsula exhibition, created together with Intesa Sanpaolo and Gallerie d'Italia, displays the works of 10 artists. To satisfy their specific requests for visual rendering and protection, we used a 70% museum conservation glass.

Solutions for large formats
Very large photos are spectacular, but they tend to bend. To guarantee the flatness required by the photographers, we integrated into our production:

  • Spacers: They prevent the paper from directly touching the glass, protecting the print from moisture and temperature fluctuations.
  • The subframe (controtelaio): A reinforcement structure on the back that closes and supports the work, keeping it perfectly straight and stable. The subframe distributes weights evenly and prevents the wood from bending.

Being a technical partner for such an event means exactly this: putting the flexibility of our production at the service of the artistic direction and the great masters of photography. Behind every great exhibition, there is an invisible work made of millimeters and tenths, noble material, and rigorous technical choices.

Our thanks go to the entire management of Cortona On The Move.
